TO AVONDALE HEIGHTS FOOTBALL CLUB PLAYERS, SUPPORTERS, FAMILIES AND SPONSORS
As 2017 is coming to a close we can reflect on another season and commit to a bright future and exciting season in 2018.
VISION
Our club's vision will never waiver. That is to provide the best possible environment for all players, their families and supporters and to achieve success at all levels as a football club, embracing all challenges both on and off the field. This season saw the implementation of our first girls youth team and there is already exciting signs for girls football in the season ahead. We continue to forge our way as a leading club in the EDFL, being bold, focused and determined to gain success.
FACILITIES:
Our club, through the Avondale Heights Sporting Club continue to work hard to further improve our facilities for our ever growing club. We have the best player facilities in the EDFL which is partly a result of hard work from members who more than any other club, provide voluntary labour and funds to improve our facilities. For season 2018, through the Avondale Heights Sporting Club, we will have a new stand alone time keepers box. This will allow for the current time keepers box to be converted into a stand alone coaches box. The new LED scoreboard has also been an outstanding success.
CULTURE:
We continue to strengthen our club’s culture by creating and developing programs and policies to educate and improve. We invest in good people and they reinvest into the club. Our club will still be Gold Accredited in 2018 and is still the only EDFL club to have been awarded AFL Victoria Gold Accreditation and only one of four clubs from the 1200 clubs in Victoria with this level of accreditation .
COMMUNITY:
We encourage partnerships with local businesses and community groups. As well as supporting all of our sponsors, our club supports local charities and fundraising causes.
FUTURE:
Season 2017 saw an increase in junior teams, our first ever girls team and the return of the Avondale Heights Auskick program to Canning Reserve (on Fridays under lights). This was all possible due to the tremendous work by our junior coaches and volunteers. In season 2018, we will continue to grow and hope to introduction an additional youth girls team. Our club president Ted Hatzakortzian is committed to securing a great future for our club and senior coach Donald McDonald is determined to see the development of all footballers at our club. We will strive to achieve sustained success both on and off the field.
Finally, the Avondale Heights Football Club would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.
