HEIGHTS WIN ROUND 15 CLASH
The Avondale Heights Senior team defeated Maribyrnong Park in the vital Round 15 clash at Maribyrnong Park. With both teams vying to cement a top four spot on the EDFL Premier League premiership ladder for season 2013, it was the Heights who were able to secure a win. In windy conditions, Avondale Heights kicked with the wind in the first quarter and after an impressive start in the first 15 minutes of the game by Avondale Heights, it was Maribyrnong Park who showed great desire and endeavour to limit the Height's opportunities for the remainder of the quarter resulting in the Heights leading by 12 points at the first break.
In the second quarter, Maribyrnong Park got off to a great start, kicking four goals. However, wasted opportunities saw Maribyrnong Park not convert on the scoreboard and kicked 4 goals 9 points for the quarter. The Heights finished the quarter off well with two late goals to make the difference seven points in Maribyrnong Park's advantage at the long break.
In the third quarter, Avondale Heights dominated played and were extremely disciplined and accurate to score eight goals, four points for the quarter whist limiting Maribyrnong Park to one point. This gave Avondale Heights a comfortable lead of 44 points at three quarter time. In the final quarter, with rain accompanying the windy conditions, Maribyrnong Park closed the gap but were not able to get back into the game. Final Score: Avondale Heights 13:11:89 defeated Maribyrnong Park 8:16:64

The Reserve Team had a comfortable win as did the Under 18's team resulting in an excellent day for the mighty Heights.
