SMOKING BAN AROUND CANNING RESERVE

As from 1 April 2014, under the Tobacco Act 1987, smoking is prohibited within 10 metres of outdoor public children’s playground equipment, skate parks and sporting venues during organised underage sporting events. This means that smoking is banned on all Junior Training Nights and Sunday Game days. The smoking exclusion zone includes the area within 10 metres of Sports Pavilion including Social Rooms, Player's Change  Rooms, Canteen Area, 10 metres off boundary, entire oval area and all car park areas and concourse area between Sports Pavilion and the oval area. We ask all members to adhere to the extended smoking exclusion zone in the interest of public health and in particular the health of our children. The ban includes Under 18's training and Under 18's games on Saturday mornings. Avondale Heights Football Club members need to be mindful that the ban is Victorian wide and therefore will be in place for away games as well.
