HEIGHTS FIRST GIRLS TEAM
After a lot of hard work leading up to Round 1, the Avondale Heights Football Club fielded their first ever girls team at Canning Reserve today by fielding an U15's team. The girls were really excited and created history for our club when they played against Greenvale who had a full contingent of players The Heights kicked the first goal and were very competitive all day. As much as the final score was Greenvale 10:7.67 defeated Avondale Heights 2.0.12, the score did not reflect the evenness of the game and the competitiveness of our team. The game was played in a wonderful spirit and it was really a celebration of girls playing footy.
It has been a great effort by Janine Fishenden and Sevil Francis in getting the team together and the Avondale Heights Football Club is still seeking girls to play in this team for season 2017. We are looking for girls born in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and no experience is necessary. So come along and bring your friends and get involved in the fastest growing sport in Australia. The club provides the jumpers so there really is not much of an outlay.
If you are interested, please contact Janine Fishenden on 0408 440 269 or Sevil Francis on 0416 005 220
