Head Coach – Rob Curran – Rob comes to us from Maribyrnong
Park where he coached the U16 1 team. Rob grew up playing football in the
Hampton League in SW Victoria. He played
Senior Football in the HFNL, WDFNL, EFNL, VAFA & RDFL. His coaching
background includes
- Reserves Coach Lancefield FNC 3 seasons
- Senior Assistant/Line Coach with Taylors Lakes FNC
- Junior Coach/Development Coach TLFNC
- Coach TLFNC U18.5
- Assistant Coach EDFL U15 2018, 2022.
- Involved at Coach Calder Cannons Development Programs
2017,2018 & 2023
- Coach U 16 (1) Maribyrnong Park 2023
Rob will bring strong leadership, communication &
organisational skills to the role. He is committed to creating a program that
will develop every player by creating an encouraging, challenging and rewarding
environment. He will challenge the players to better themselves both as
individual’s and as a group.

have extensive coaching & playing experience and are organised and
professional. I am excited about the opportunity in front of us and the journey
we will undertake as a group”
Assistant Coach – Luke Costa
We welcome back Luke Costa to the Heights. Luke returns home
to Avondale Heights where it all started for him back in 1986. Luke enjoyed a
wonderful 20-year playing career at the Heights from U10s right through to
Senior Level and he represented the Club in over 200 games . Luke was
Vice-Captain and a member of the 2004 B-Grade Premiership team which took the
Club back to Premier Division where we have remained ever since. Luke has a
passion for coaching, developing young footballers and building a team first
culture. Luke has coached for the last 9 years at various junior levels, and more
recently the last 2 seasons at U16s level at Maribyrnong Park.
Line Coaches – Tom Russell, Jackson Robb, Bradley Robb &
Jacob Cutri – These boys need no introduction! All are a part of the Senior
Playing group & Leadership Team and have come through our Junior program.
They are looking forward to assisting Rob & Luke to help fast track the
development of our U18.5 group!
Team Manger/Club Player Welfare – Craig Thomas – Craig
brings a wealth of knowledge in the Player Welfare area as well as a strong business
background. He will not only be the Team Manger of this group but will assist
the whole club in the Player Welfare Space which is one of the most important
roles at the AHFC.
