VALE: ROD CAMPBELL


It is with a heavy heart that we notify our members, suppoorters and followers of the passing of Rod Campbell
Rod was a valued member of the Avondale Heights Cricket and Football Clubs and of the community in general. Rod formed a partnership with "Doggy" Sewart to form the under 12's cricket teams in the early 1980's. He also coached various junior football and cricket teams for Avondale Heights at Doyle Street Reserve. Rod was always willing to help, from coaching, to team manager, scoring and eventhe team taxi driving to a from the grounds.
In the early days, Rod formed a great friendship with Ron Blair senior in the A3's football team and went on to be awarded Best Clubman in 1985.
Rod was the A Grade team manager for club legends such as Milan Savic and Peter Baxter.
Rod continued to support the Heights even in recent times including supporting his grandson Isaac in the recent Under 14's grand final.
Condolences to the Campbell family.

Friday 15th September at 11:00am Medway Golf Club 57 Omar Street Maidstone.
